Making Better Homes Awards
Unhooked Communications worked with Jewson to develop its first ever Making Better Homes Awards campaign.
The brief
Leading builders’ merchant Jewson wanted a campaign to raise awareness of its ‘Making Better Homes’ range, which brings together building materials, products and solutions that make home more sustainable, safe, comfortable and energy efficient.
Our solution
To raise awareness of the Making Better Homes range, educate the market about the importance of sustainable building materials and solutions, and to celebrate tradespeople and builders who are going out of their way to build comfortable and energy efficient homes, Unhooked worked with Jewson and its social media partner On the Tools to develop the Making Better Homes Awards campaign.
The campaign was backed by unique market research that explored how consumer demand, trends and attitudes towards sustainable homes is driving business opportunities for tradespeople and builders. Using the wealth of insights gathered in the research, Unhooked developed
content including news stories, blogs, thought leadership features and a customer-facing report, on topics including indoor air quality and its impact on wellbeing.
The research findings were of so timely and relevant, that as well as generating widespread media coverage, the data was also used by other organisations and businesses, including Mitsubishi Electric, Building Engineering Services Association and World Ventil8 Day.
Building on this thought leadership, the data was used to back up and launch the Making Better Homes Awards – an awards scheme to celebrate builders and tradespeople already carrying out exceptional work in building and improving homes to make sure they are safe, comfortable and energy efficient.
Judges from Jewson and partners, including the Federation of Master Builders and Band of Builders, shortlisted the nominations. The public then voted for their overall winners, who were announced at Jewson Live.
The campaign was supported throughout by On the Tools, which used graphics and dynamic content across LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook to promote the report and increase engagement at each stage of the awards.
